Practicing the Letter o

Practice the letter o, "o," and its maatraa, o, "o." Some of the examples below are Hindi words, and some are transliterations of English words.

opn (English)
ago (English)
mor (Hindi)
ronaa (Hindi)
sonaa (Hindi)
most (English)
smosaa (Hindi)

The first two words illustrate the similarity in appearance between the first forms of a, "a," and o, "o." Remember that aa1_small.gif (210 bytes), "aa," appears very similar, also. Their maatraas are also similar: keep in mind the difference between aa, "aa," and o, "o."

Take note of the letter st, "st." This is a conjunct, combining the letters s, "sa," and t_small.gif (157 bytes), "ta." The fact that they are combined means that there is no inherent, "a" sound between these consonants.
